I had a dream that I lived in a hotel and my roommate was Brian Kinney. That was awesome because I was his go-to girl and he took his shirt off a lot. Then one day he went for a little trip and Cybill Shepherd - who was a detective - and an old dude who saw me pee, came to the room looking for cocaine they thought Brian was dealing. Then I woke up because it really couldn't get much better.

So, I was very upset by A Heartwell Ending's misogyny in lyrics for a while. But I'm slow on updating my mp4 player so on this trip two of their songs played while I was feeling shitty and drowsy. And I realized something. You know how Nick Cave's Murder Ballades are all about, y'know, murders? Well, Trust Us, We Lie, by A Heartwell Ending is well done if you listen to it like it was written from a point of view of a psycho killer holding (a) female victim/s.

Possibly after he stalked her for a while, or actually dated her once. But really, he was once in love with one woman, but she dumped him, and now he keeps taking these women who look like her or just glance in his direction randomly "obviously teasing him" and plays domesticity with them until they mess something up (aka don't behave like his loved ex did) and then he kills them and finds a new one.

I wrote down examples of creepy psycho-stalker-killer lyrics, but I only explained some of them, because I think most are self explanatory.

Bold are titles, Italic are lyrics, regular are my thoughts.

Warning for talk of rape, murder, torture etc. )
