Hm, the first part I kinda figure, because that's basically what they all said in the interviews. But the not talking part and thinking they would be two different bands... it makes me sadface. But it also makes me wonder if Brendon and Spencer know about this or if they are all just being typically 23 and thinking everyone around them should be reading their minds.
