The Split

People are unhappy because of some stuff Spencer and Brendon said. But, is it really anything we didn't already know? Ryan and Jon wanted to make one music, Brendon and Spencer other, also Ryan probably wanted to sing, they argued, there were tensions, they split up in the most "omg boys" way possible, didn't talk for a while, but are getting better now (says Spencer.) So... what's new there?

To my mind the problem is that B & S seem to have moved on and some fans haven't. So the fans that haven't are stewing because if their hearts are broken then everyone's hearts should be broken, especially the ones who did the breaking.

What those fans are forgetting is that it's fine for them to not have moved on, but it would be pretty unhealthy for B & S not to have.

Probably. I mean, I'm still nostalgic, will always be probably, but I'm pretty sure at this point there's no big mystery for them to reveal and no reason to be upset all over again. They are moving on, making (awesome) music. Let's enjoy it :)

There's nothing new there. But people are still brokenhearted and they can't understand why Brendon and Spencer aren't miserable and useless without Ryan. And I see it coming mostly from teenagers--people who just haven't yet experienced how drastically people and friendships can change in two years.

I mean, I love Ryan, but Spencer and Brendon have plenty of talent of their own. And, yeah, they grew apart even though they were together all the time. It happens. It's ok. Not that I'm not sad about the split but realistically, it's hardly shocking. As Spencer says, they were in that age when people change a lot, they changed differently :)

I didn't even know people were upset, and I can't figure out why. They seem to be talking again, and Brendon has said twice now that he can't see a reason why they couldn't play music together again at some point in the future. Are these people the sort who hoped that Brendon and Spencer would crash and burn without Ryan and Jon? (And, yes, I know there are Brendon and Spencer people who hope the same thing about Ryan and Jon.)

No, I think there were just people who thought the split was completely amicable and are now upset that there were arguments. But, they mended a lot of it, and frankly it all went down way better than it could have so... happy thoughts ppl, happy thoughts.

i have no clue of what happened. i chose to stay away from it because i liked them all and i didn't want to feel bitchy towards any of them
