How fucking much do I hate that he's aware of all the hate going around? And the whole "in b4" (or "I'm gonna shit on myself before anyone else gets the chance to") attitude is something I too do so well, and I just don't want him to do that. Stoppit. You're better than that! But then, I also don't want PW to do it and we all see how that's working out.

Don't make me break out Dean Winchester ppl.

He is not the first rock star to get treated like this. It's hard to have every choice you make picked apart by thousands of fans & the media.

Just watched "I'm not There" (biographical film about Dylan) last weekend. The fan reaction when Dylan went electric reminds me (or vice versa) with some of the s**t Ryan has had to put up. He & Jon seems to have been a Dylan fan and you can see where some of that rubs off.

When TYV's album comes out and it's awesome, hopefully that will speak for itself.

True. I just don't really understand fan-hate in its core. The whole idea of actively hating someone who did nothing to you (or isn't at least a genocidal dictator :) ) boggles the mind.

*sigh* Poor guy, really. He reminds me so much of Pete in this interview, the way they're ready to become the most hated because they don't think they can be loved.

And now people are going to start getting mad at him again, because clearly, everything he says is always read under the worst light ever. Gah. I liked the way JMont said the yin and yang thing, it's totally ture, and so unfair... (also, Ryan is being kind brave, I think, shouldering all this and dealing with the interviews all by himself).

Of course, don'tcha know? He's ev0l. *hugs him and keeps him* The yin/yang part is really how a lot of people see them and it's so disturbing :/
One has to wonder where Jon is and why he isn't mentioned anywhere or why he doesn't do any interviews.

And yet Ryan mentions on his twitter the listening tonight will be 21+ because people asked. Which makes me think he does read his @replies and seriously, I can't even read those.

I was reading articles at Cracked the other day, and part of this one made me think about Ryan so much: http://www.cracked.com/article_17061_5-things-you-think-will-make-you-happy-but-wont.html

They mention things that just... like how many kids from separated or emotionally unavailable parents seek fame, how much stress comes from having your goals tied to the feelings and approval of others, etc.

And yes, I think he does check his @replies, at least from time to time, which is frankly worrying. Like you, *I* cannot look at thos without feeling sad and/or enraged, so I can't even think how Ryan must be feeling.

I honestly, truly believe that if they never reunite again, it will be because of the strain these so-called fans cause.

Wow, I read it and it seems to be pretty spot on... It also reminds me of how much Patrick distances himself from all of it. He should give Ryan pointers... though it might be too late.

Yeah, I'm really hoping after the album is out the odds will turn and there'll be more positive replies than negative ones. (Especially since now most positive stuff seems to be about his hair anyway. And also "omg I will kill myself if you cut your hair!!"... As long as there's no pressure, right?)

*nod* In SPN fandom I feel ridiculous thinking anything we do or say will affect Jensen or Jared, they mostly don't care and avoid the Internets like the plague. But here it's like... we're in the same pool and every time someone pees in it, everyone feels it.

Yeah, with SPN the problem is the conventions. Everytime there's one I find myself almost praying to ask that no one throws themself at Jensen or something.

Sometimes, fans are much worse than detractors. They can do more harm.
