I don't know why. But I have never felt comfortable using some else's face for an icon representing myself.

The whole 'someone else on the icon' thing was really confusing for me when I first joined LJ because I never hung out in places where that was normal before. Then I got used to it and now I don't give it a second thought. But I can understand why it would be weird.

You could. It's really beautiful and you are mostly active in bandom as far as I know (unless you filter heavily :) ).

And yes! By all means play with them more. I know it's just 100x100 pixels but they can bring so much joy :)
